The tester comprises a reduced frequency drive actuating a mobile crosspiece. The testpiece tension or compression is provided by a helicoidal screw system with a set of balls actuated by a d.c. electric motor having a disc-shape rotor. The force is measured via two dynamometric gauges with a cylindrical elastic element and resistance strain gauges. The force variation is recorded electronically, with digital analogue display.
