The invention describes a retractable type of support for patio umbrellas; it consists of a metallic tube support, to which are riveted five arms, each fitted with two shoes, and five spokes, each made up of two elements also joined by riveting, so that by retraction, the spokes as well as the arms can rotate around the rivets and fold along the metallic support, the support offering thus the convenience of a substantially smaller size for transportation or storage. According to this invention, by using different metallic tube sizes, the support has the advantage of being easy to make and use for different types of umbrellas.
