PURPOSE: To preserve live bacteria and to supply these bacteria to animals by suspending anaerobic symbiotic bacteria in a carrier liquid under specific conditions, maintaining this suspension, adding the known amt. thereof to animal feed and dosing this feed to the animals. CONSTITUTION: The screwed door 93 of a storage device 10 constituted by depositing insulating means 110 on the circumferences of a vessel 20 and an evaporator coil 51 by which device is capable of refrigerating is opened and the aq. carrier liquid is charged into this vessel 20. The liquid is then cooled usually to 36 to 50 deg.F by a refrigerating means 50, a mixer 80, etc. The contents of a commercial package 95, such as desired dryed bacteria, are added to the liquid in the vessel 20 and is suspended by stirring, by which the thick bacterium suspension 23 is obtd. While the mixture 80 is kept operated at about middle speed during the storage period and while the suspension 23 is kept at a temp. range of 36 to 50 deg.F by a refrigerating means 60 and a thermostat means, the suspension is circulated by valves 30, 120 and a pump 40. The suspension is dispensed into a metering means 200 and is diluted by a tank 211. The diluted suspension is added to the animal feed which is then supplied to a feed tank. |
