NEW MATERIAL:A NG-011 compound having the following physicochemical properties: Appearance, white powder; melting point, 85-100 deg.C; elementary analysis (%), C 55.19, H 45.81; FAB mass spectrum: m/z-663 (M+H)<+>; molecular formula, C32H38O15; molecular weight, 662; [alpha] =-7.2 deg.C(C=0.25, ethanol); solubility, readily soluble in methanol, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetone and ethyl ether, slightly soluble in chlorofolm, benzene, n-hexane and petroleum ether and insoluble in water; color reaction, positive against iodine, sulfuric acid, anisaldehyde - sulfuric acid and FeCl3 and negative against ninhydrin. USE:The above-mentioned NG-011 compound has effect capable of enhancing action of nerve growth factor and is used as an agent for controlling suppressing agent of falling of a nerve cell. PREPARATION:Penicillium esp.F-4542 (FERM P-11273) is cultured in a liquid medium under aerobic conditions at pH6-7 and 26-28 deg.C for 3 day. |
