FILTER MATERIAL, FILTER CARTRIDGE AND FILTER FOR EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of clogging and to enhance the collection efficiency of fine particles by constituting a filter material of ceramics containing 5-500wt.% of a calcium phosphate type compound. CONSTITUTION:A filter material for exhaust gas is constituted of ceramics containing 5-100wt.% of a calcium phosphate type compound. As the calcium phosphate type compound, any compound having a Ca/P mol ratio of 0.8-2.0 may be used and, for example, apatite such as hydroxyapatite, tricalcium or tetracalcium phosphate or the like are designated. A filter cartridge for exhaust gas is obtained by packing a case of which at least the air passing surfaces are composed of an air permeable material with this filter material for exhaust gas. Further, a filter for exhaust gas is prepared by alternately fixing the filter materials for exhaust gas each having a height smaller than that of a filter main body having a square cross-section to the interior of the filter main body at the upper and lower ends thereof at a predetermined interval so as to provide gas passages.
