<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the capacity of a cross connect device using the packet exchange system from being increased by employing the cross connect device using the packet exchange system for setting of a small path and employing the cross connect device using the line exchange system for plural paths integrated as a large bundle for the packet exchange. CONSTITUTION:A call is identified by a number VCI from a communication packet through a communication terminal equipment connecting to a packet exchange ATM-SW 101 and the call is shared by the number VCI so that the capacity for passing through a transmission line 131 (132) is not exceeded. Then the communication packet on the transmission line 131 is sent to the ATM-SW 103 as it is by line exchanges STM-XC111 and STM-XC112 and the call is shared for each communication packet VCI by the ATM-SW 103 and sent to a reception terminal equipment. Then the number VPI discriminating the path is replaced so as to distinguish the communication packet from the transmission line 134 from the communication packet from the transmission line 132. Furthermore, the communication packet from the transmission lines 139, 140 is shared by the VCI at the ATM-SW 103 and sent to the reception terminal equipment. Thus, a large capacity of variable path is set.</p> |
