PURPOSE:To reduce a set space for a density detection means by providing the density detection means near the downstream side of the confluent part of plural sheet conveying paths which join a 1st path for conveying a sheet to a specified position. CONSTITUTION:After placing the sheet P on a sheet stacking table 4, the sheet P is conveyed to the specified position of an image forming device 2 by conveying means 5-8, 11, 14 and 18 through the 1st paths 4, 9 and 3 or other plural sheet conveying paths 3, 12, 15, 19, 9 and 3 which join the 1st paths 4, 9 and 3. The density of the conveyed sheet P is detected by the density detection means 20 which is provided near the downstream side of the most downstream side confluent part 8 of the 1st paths 4, 9 and 3 and other plural sheet conveying paths 3, 12, 15, 19, 9 and 3. Therefore, the density of all the conveyed sheets P is detected by one density detection means 20. Thus, the set space for the density detection means 20 is reduced.
