A single-piece feeder for pieces of lumber comprises a number of endless transport chains 5, whose upper part 5' receives individual pieces of lumber 3 in a layer whose feeding motion is intermittently stopped by blocking fingers 27. Between the blocking fingers and a lifter 9 there is a gap 28, in which one or sometimes several pieces of lumber can be received for forwarding one after the other. In order to assure this function, a cam 30 is arranged in the gap 28, arranged to be lifted together with the lifter 9, wherein the cam is placed so in relation to the blocking fingers 27 that a first piece of lumber in the gap can always be fed out from the gap unhindered, while each piece beyond the first remains in the gap until the next feed-out operation. <IMAGE> |
