PURPOSE:To prevent the hydraulic shock in a shock absorber from generating before anything happens by inhibiting the damping force varying control of the shock absorber when the speed of the telescopic motion of the shock absorber is higher than the speed which was set beforehand. CONSTITUTION:A shock absorber SA is constituted in such a way that a piston is slidably fitted in a cylinder, and a hydraulic pressure chamber is divided into a plurality of hydraulic pressure chambers and the areas of the passages extending to each pressure chamber are adjusted to vary damping force. In this case, a device HS for detecting the height of a vehicle is utilized to detect the speed of the telescopic motion of the shock absorber. The detected speed of the telescopic motion is inputted in a microcomputer 40 to be compared with the specified value having been set beforehand by a telescopic motion speed comparing means 41. When the detected value of the speed of telescopic motion is equal to the set value or more, the operation by which damping force is varied is inhibited by a control inhibition circuit 42. This prevents the hydraulic shock in the shock absorber from generating before anything happens. |
