<p>PURPOSE:To improve the degree of freedom for handwrite and to separate characters and graphics with high accuracy by displaying or erasing a character frame while deciding the circumscribed rectangle of a stroke as a character or graphic stroke corresponding to whether a length (l) of a long side in the rectangle is less or more than a threshold value. CONSTITUTION:When the starting position of the first stroke in the character is written down by a pen, a processing circuit 402 writes the character frame of one character in a size set in advance through an interface circuit 405 to a frame memory 5 with the coordinates of the position as a center, and writes a straight line linking those coordinate points into a memory 5. On the other hand, a control circuit 6 sends out the contents of the memory 5 to a display 2 at fixed cycles. The circuit 402 calculates the length (l) of the long side in the frame of the circumscribed rectangle to the stroke according to the respective coordinates of the first stroke, and compares the calculated length with the threshold value to be decided from the character frame. Corresponding to whether the length (l) is less or more than the threshold value, the stroke is decided as the character or the graphic. When the stroke is decided as the character, the central position of the character frame is moved to the central position of the stroke circumscribed rectangle and displayed 2. On the other hand, when the stroke is decided as the graphic, the character frame is erased.</p> |
