<p>A tape cassette for use in a recording apparatus with a lid lock to lock a front lid of the tape cassette at a closed position. The lid lock comprises a fixing portion to fix the lid lock to the cassette body and a locking portion with a lock claw to be engaged to the front lid so as to lock the same at the closed position. The lid lock is integrally formed and made of a plural kinds of materials, and at least one of the materials is a resilient material. The lid lock is thus adapted to be deformed in a direction confined within a plane parrallel to the side wall of the cassette main body. The lock claw locks and releases the front lid by its movement caused by the deformation of the lid lock. <IMAGE></p>
