A building with a flat roof is provided with a double roof with the space between the two roofs being ventilated. The flat roof is constructed from panels (2) which are supported on beams and covered with a layer (4) of thermal insulation. This flat roof is covered by a sloping roof which is supported on beams (5) which are in turn supported on posts (8). These posts (8) pass through the insulation layer (4) and are attached to the beams (3) which support the flat roof. An additional layer (7) of thermal insulation may be placed over the flat roof.
