The machine tool is equipped with a device which enables the tool to be guided in three mutually perpendicular directions. The driving shaft (1) drives a toothed wheel (14) which meshes with a toothed belt (15a). This toothed belt (15a) meshes with one side of the toothed wheel (14) and then runs around guide wheels in the corners of the rectangular housing so that the belt forms a rectangle with rounded corners. Each guide wheel is mounted on a shaft with a second guide wheel mounted on the lower end of the shaft. These second guide wheels drive a second toothed belt which drives the output shaft (16) which carries the chuck (17) which holds the tool. The chuck (17) and the attached housing (9) can be moved relative to the inner housing (9a) along guide grooves (13). USE - Machine tools.
