摘要 The central-buffer couplings (3) between wagons having conventional side buffers (9) are released by an actuator (4) which rotates to free a system of bolts (2) between the coupling hooks (3). This operation is performed by a mobile robot programmed with data of wagon geometry and train formation instructions. Acceleration coarse and fine positioning, braking and reversal are controlled by a carriage with a multiaxis positioner (32) and an effector which operates on the actuator. USE/ADVANTAGE - In gravity-assisted hump marshalling yards. Potential danger to operators is reduced and economy of shunting improved.
