The invention relates to a hydraulic speed regulator, for injection pumps with rotary distributors, used in the supply system of internal combustion engines with compression ignition. According to the invention, in this speed regulator, the fuel cyclic dosage regulating valve consists of a channel provided with a supply branch, a horizontal branch and a terminal branch so that, in the field of engine idle speed, the rotational distributor supply orifice is controlled by the horizontal branch by moving the valve axially, as a result of the force generated by the pressure between the fuel transfer pump on the one hand and the force of a spring on another hand, this stabilizing the idle speed; by rotating the valve with an exterior lever, the supply orifice arrives at the terminal branch and adjusts the engine load by the cyclic dosage, function of the obturated section; when speed is above the limited value, the force generated by the fuel pressure, proportional to speed, overcomes the pretensioning force of the spring that limits the vent axial movement, reducing thus the section of the supply orifice and eliminating the engine overspeed; the idle speed is adjusted with a screw that compresses the spring, for maximum speed adjustment.
