Disclosed is an intelligent remote measurement and control system, contained in a housing unit (terminal) (1 to 4), for the measurement, processing and storage of analogue and/or digital data and for the recording in a memory (22) and the transmission, on command, of such data by a suitable path. Each unit (terminal) can be linked to other units (any number) in a network, and the node computer fitted in each unit automatically selects and establishes for the transmission path such a connexion with the destination (receiver) that will ensure troublefree data transmission.
