Plastic tubing to hold a cable is produced by loosely feeding a cable through an extruder head and the tubing which is extruded there, cooling the tubing to a suitable solidifying temp., passing it round a guide arc path, cooling the tubing further to room temp. and finally reeling it up. Preferred material for the tubing is high density polyethylene or PVC. ADVANTAGE - The procedure minimises the initial operations required for laying the cable. It allows the cable to be readily changed or tautened later of necessary.
