PURPOSE:To rapidly process the aliasing removal of high quality by repeating the division and discrimination of areas and calculating a brightness value by the area of a poligon chip in a finally obtained picture element area or a small area. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a dividing means 4, a deciding means 3, a division repeating means 5, and a brightness value calculating means 8 and whether each picture element area includes only two kinds of graphics, only one graphic and its background, only one graphic, or no graphic or includes other elements is discriminated, and when the inclusion of other elements is discriminated, a picture element area is divided and respective divided small areas are similarly discriminated. The division and discrimination of the small areas are repeated, the area of a polygon chip in the finally obtd. picture ele ment area or the small area including only the two kinds of graphics or only one graphic and its background is calculated based upon a horizontal/vertical distance from the center of picture elements up to the edge line of a graphic to be plotted and the brightness value is calculated based upon the calculated area. Consequently, highly accurate aliasing removal can be rapidly attained. |
