PURPOSE:To obtain an outline font speedily by generating a secondary regression curve, block by block, and coupling respective secondary regression curves and generating the outline font. CONSTITUTION:When a contour extracting means 1 extracts contour data from a dot font, a parting point detecting means 2 detects contour parting points according to the contour data. Then secondary regression calculations are made for the contour data, block by block, while the part between a couple of adjacent parting points is regarded as one block. Then an outline font generating means 4 generates the secondary regression curves, block by block, according to secondary regression calculation expressions which are found, block by block, and a couple of parting points constituting the corresponding block, and the respective secondary regression curves are connected to generate the outline font. Consequently, curve data is generated by performing arithmetic once for each block and the outline font is obtained speedily. |
