PURPOSE:To simultaneously satisfy the sensitivity, sharpness, color reproducibility, and photosensitive material preservable property of the above material and to decrease the fluctuations in the photographic performance in continuous processing by incorporating a DIR coupler and compd. which are respectively specific into this material. CONSTITUTION:The DIR coupler expressed by formula I is incorporated into this material and the compd. expressed by formula II is incorporated therein. In the formula I, A denotes a residual coupler group; R denotes 1 to 4C alkyl group or pyridyl group. In the formula II, A denotes a group which cleaves (L1)v-B-(L2)w-INH-HYD by reacting with the oxidant of a developing agent; L1 denotes a group which cleaves the bond of B after the bond with A cleaves ; B denotes a group which cleaves (L2)w-INH-HYD to the oxidant of a developing agent; L2 denotes a group which cleaves INH-HYD after the cleavage of the bond with B; INH denotes a group having a development inhibiting power; HYD denotes a alkoxy carbonyl group, etc.; (v), (w) respectively denote 0 to 2 integer. The excellent sharpness and color reproducibility are obtd. in this way and the improvement in continuous developability is made.
