A hot air welding device for plasticse films includes a support roller, an associated hot air nozzle which can be adjusted in the axial direction of the roller, a strip shaped weld substrate under the nozzle, and an elastically deformable sleeve which holds the substrate. The sleeve rubs against the support roller during welding, and compressed air can be fed into the roller during operation, in order to adjust the roller position. The substrate pref. consists of PTFE. ADVANTAGE - The device is simple to change over when format changes are required.
