PURPOSE:To compress the maximum value of the digital data in a prescribed area within a reference value and to reproduce an input digital data from a compressed digital data by compressing a digital data in a prescribed area of a memory with a coefficient obtained from a maximum value of a data digital data string. CONSTITUTION:The compressor consists of a memory 2 fetching a digital data, a means 10 detecting a maximum value in a prescribed range of a fetched digital data and obtaining a coefficient based on the detected maximum value and a prescribed reference value and a means 20 storing the obtained coefficient corresponding to the digital data of the prescribed range. Moreover, a multiplication means 20 is provided, in which the digital data stored in the memory 2 is extracted sequentially and the coefficient is multiplied to compress the digital data. Furthermore, when the maximum value of the digital data in a prescribed area is a prescribed reference value or over, all digital data in the prescribed area is uniformly compressed so that the maximum value is within the reference value. Thus, the inputted digital data is reproduced from the compressed digital data. |
