The electrical connector has a cylindrical body (12) attached to an electrical lead (13) at one end and provided with a sleeve (15) at the other end, which encloses the contact pins (16) or socket sleeves. The outer mantle (17) of the sleeve (15) has a freely rotatable, axially fixed nut (18) supported by a peripheral flange (20) of the sleeve (15). Pref. the inner wall of the nut (18) has an angled face for radial compression of the flange (20) to secure the cooperating connector half. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates need for slotted sleeve.
