On-off handle-switch for video camera - uses slide-action combined with press-button unlock operable by one finger

The on/off switch is contained in a separate housing fastened into a slotted recess in the camera handle. To switch on a press button (13) is depressed and then pushed forward in a combined down-and-forward movement thus disengaging a transverse cross-bar from a groove under the cover and moving the switch into the closed position. To siwtch off an adjacent slide-button (11) is pulled backwards until the cross-bar encounters the same groove and allows the press-button to clock back into the switch-open position. Operation is accomplished with a single traverse of finger or thumb with no change in hand-position. ADVANTAGE - Camera cannot be switched on accidentally.
