PURPOSE:To stop the replenishment of developer in the case that abnormality occurs and to prevent the expansion of harm by setting a detection member which is different from the detection member of a developer amount detection means in a developer carrying chamber at a spot where a developer replenishing port is positioned. CONSTITUTION:In the case that replenishment instruction is continuously given to a hopper 5 when a carrying paddle 9 stops, the developer T is retained in the carrying chamber 8 and there is no gap between an electrode 13 and itself, then a detection circuit provided with the electrodes 2 and 13 detects the effect through the electrode 13 and alarms that the amount of the developer T in the chamber 8 is abnormal. A developer amount control means receives the alarm and commands the stop of the replenishment of the developer so as to stop the electromagnetic roller 6 of the hopper 5 to stop the replenishment of the developer T. With such constitution, the harm such as the overflow of the developer is prevented from expanding and wasteful labor such as cleaning is saved. |
