发明名称 Improvements in or relating to the application of pigments to fibrous materials
摘要 In the application of white or coloured pigments to fibrous materials particularly for the purpose of delustring artificial silk, the materials are treated with adsorption compounds obtained by adsorbing the pigment on electroneutral compounds of electro - positively charging wetting or dispersing agents, namely quaternary ammonium salts containing 8 or more carbon aliphatic residues, and electro-negatively charging, wetting or dispersing agents. The positively charging quaternary bases are preferably those derived from pyridine and its homologues, e.g. the compound derived from pyridine and dodecylsulphuric acid ester at an elevated temperature. Negatively charging agents suitable for the process are fatty alcohol sulphonates containing 8 to 12 carbon atoms in the molecule, and also esters of fatty acids with oxy-sulphonic acids. Soaps and turkey red oils are less suitable. Pigments mentioned are oxides and hydroxides of magnesium, zinc, tin, titanium, barium, aluminium and also resinates of these and other metals. Ferric oxide, carbon, mineral colours and insoluble organic dyestuffs, e.g. vat dyes may be used as coloured pigments. In the preparation of the adsorption compound a pigment, e.g. zinc sulphide is stirred into a paste with one of the dispersing-agents, e.g. coco-nut oil alcohol sulphonates and water. A solution of the other agent, e.g. the quaternary salt of dodecyl-sulphuric acid ester and technical pyridine, is added in a quantity equivalent to that of the first agent and the mixture stirred until the compound (in which the pigment is adsorbed) is deposited in flocks. The compound may then be peptized with an equal quantity of either of the two dispersing agents, glycerine or other hygroscopic agent being advantageously added to prevent the obtained paste from drying. The product is readily dispersed in water to form a treating bath for the goods.ALSO:In the application of white or coloured pigments to fibrous materials particularly for the purpose of delustring artificial silk, the materials are treated with adsorption compounds obtained by adsorbing the pigment on electro-neutral compounds of electro-positively charging, wetting or dispersing agents, namely quaternary ammonium salts containing 8 or more carbon aliphatic residues, and electro-negatively charging wetting or dispersing agents.
