<p>PURPOSE:To enable fuel to be mixed with air uniformly by devising a sectional shape, along the lengthwise directions of an independent supply air passage per cylinder which is curved downward from a connection part to a surge tank and thereafter extended almost in a horizontal direction toward the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In the case of an air intake device 2, in which a long/narrow surge tank 4, provided in an intake manifold and each cylinder of an engine are connected to each other by an independent intake passage 6(61 to 64) curve- arranged in circular arc shape from a connection part 7A to the surge tank 4, to a connection part 7B to a cylinder head 1a, passage sectional shape of each independent intake passage 6 is formed in elliptic shape, whose major axis direction is extended in a curve radius direction of a curved part 8, between the connection part 7A to the surge tank 4 and the final end part 7C of the curved part 8. The same sectional shape is formed so as to gradually change from the longitudinally long ellipse to the laterally long ellipse in a linear part 9 from the final end part 7C of the curved part 8 toward the connection part 7B to the cylinder head 1a.</p> |
