<p>PURPOSE:To perform file access at high speed and surely by setting tape travel speed in the file access faster than that in recording, and performing the detection of a tape mark in the patterning of reproducing data at the prescribed speed of the tape mark. CONSTITUTION:A change-over switch 27 selects an ordinary driving circuit 25 in recording or reproduction and a fast driving circuit 26 in the file access. Therefore, the file access can be accelerated. When the tape mark is reproduced in the fast access, a tone pattern detection circuit 32a detects, for example, the tone pattern of a second track, and simultaneously, an all-1 pattern detection circuit 32b detects the all-1 pattern of a third track. An AND circuit 32c inputs the signals of the circuits 32a, 32b, and generates a tone pattern detection signal. In such a way, the file access is accelerated, and the detection of the tape mark is surely performed.</p> |
