PURPOSE:To form a clear image with low impressed voltage by arranging an electrode body near a developer carrier and a recording electrode, giving alternating electric field to it and making developer fly so that the developer may be transferred and stuck to a recording medium with bias electric field in accordance with a recording signal. CONSTITUTION:The electrode body 3 is obtained by making an electrode plate 301 tightly adhere on an insulating substrate 300 and the leading edge of the body 3 is arranged to come close to or come in contact with the developer 4 on the developer carrier 1. By driving the carrier 1, the recording medium 9 also tightly adheres on the peripheral surface of the recording electrode 5 to be moved and guided in the same direction. The developer supplied to the outer peripheral surface of the carrier 1 is charged by a regulating charging member 2 and applied on the surface of the carrier 1 as a thin layer 4. When the thin layer 4 comes to the position of the electrode body 3, it is powdered to be cloud by the alternating electric field of the electrode body 3, flies from the leading edge of a developing area R and is transferred and stuck to the medium 9 in response to the recording signal, thereby visualizing a desired image pattern. Thus, the clear image is formed even when the voltage impressed between the carrier 1 and the electrode body 3 is made low. |
