PURPOSE:To find abnormality of a medium being conveyed in its early stage by comparing the length of the medium with the distance between two adjacent sensors and quitting conveying the medium immediately unless the relation between the length and distance meets requirements. CONSTITUTION:A 1st detecting means 13 on the upstream side of a conveyance path detects the medium length, sensors 1 are arranged behind the means 13 at a specific intervals, and the medium length which is detected first is compared with the distances d1 and d2 between following adjacent detecting means to quit conveying the medium immediately unless the relation meet the requirements. Consequently, the abnormality of the medium being conveyed can be found in its early stage without requiring any special hardware. Further, the sensor intervals as data which are already known are compared with the medium length which is measured at the time of insertion, so whatever medium is conveyed, it can be checked. |
