PURPOSE:To prepare the title powder improved in apparent density, denseness and electrical properties without using any organic liquid by agitating and disintegrating a polytetrafluoroethylene powder at a specified temperature in an organic liquid-free aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:A polytetrafluoroethylene powder of a mean particle diameter of 100mum or below, desirably 50mum or below, is dispersed in 150-5000%, based on the powder, organic liquid-free aqueous medium (e.g. water) to obtain a slurry. This slurry is agitated and disintegrated at 20-60 deg.C on an apparatus provided with an agitation means and a means for disintegrating the powder, and the powder is separated from the medium and dried. |
