TOUCH PANEL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING SAME

The touch panel system of the present invention comprises two light emitters at the upper opposite corners of the cathode screen. The light emitters each emit a light beam which is deflected in an annularly sweeping pattern across the face of the screen. When the beams are interrupted, the time in the sweep of the beam is sensed and this timing is used to calculate the location of the obstruction which interrupted the beam.
