PURPOSE:To efficiently use the automatic paper selecting mode by providing a control means carrying out the control such that the automatic paper selecting mode or the automatic magnification selecting mode is cancelled when the pressing plate is opened in the condition that a document is not set on an automatic document feeder. CONSTITUTION:The automatic document feeder (ADF) 22 is mounted on a copying machine main body 21 and is constituted of a document setting part 23, a paper feeding roller 24, a carrying belt 25 and a document ejecting tray 26, etc. The ADF 22 is provided with the CPU carrying out the control such that the automatic paper selecting mode is set if the document is set while the ADF 22 is set to operable without selecting paper size, whereas when the pressing plate is opened while the document is not set to the ADF 22, the automatic paper selecting mode or automatic magnification selecting mode is cancelled. Namely, the CPU is set to turn the automatic paper selecting mode off at the time of a pressing plate mode ON at the time of an ADF mode. Thus, the automatic paper selecting mode can be effectively used even when it is unintentionally operated by an user. |
