<p>The analogue to digital tracking conversion method and device, according to the invention, performs the digital conversion of an analogue input signal, the detection of the local maximum and minimum level of the analogue signal and signals the errors that occur during the conversion. The method consists of enclosing the analogue input signal between two references resulting from the digital-analogue conversion of the converted digital value as a result of the comparison between the analogue input signal and the values of the two references. The device, according to the method, consists of a reversible binary counter, whose content represents the converted digital value, and which controls two digital to analogue converters, which generate the two references, compared afterwards with the analogue input signal and leading to the changing of the counter content, depending on the result of the comparison. The analogue to digital tracking conversion method and device can be used in any digital processing system of analogue signals, process interfaces, data acquisition systems, peak voltmeters, etc.</p> |
