PURPOSE:To permit detection of a defective printing small in size or concentration difference by comparing the cumulative value obtained from an accumulating means with the reference cumulative value of a second memory means to judge as to whether or not printed matter is acceptable. CONSTITUTION:At the start of inspection, a subcontroller 20 sends an arithmetic and control signal CA to an arithmetic circuit 17 to cause operation to be effected. After starting of the inspection, the subcontroller 20 supplies a submemory signal CM to a tolerance value submemory 18, each time it detects a designated line from a point where the operation is effected on a predeter mined number of lines. The tolerance value submemory 18 stores the reference information equivalent to the results of the accumulation effected in the arithme tic circuit 17 and such reference information is sent to a comparative circuit 15 as a tolerance subdata SAD by the submemory signal CM. A subcomparative circuit 19 compares cumulative data SD with the tolerance subdata SAD and, if the size of the former is larger than that of the latter, a defective printing is judged as occurring and an error signal Es is sent to CPU 21. |
