PURPOSE:To obtain the filter which has good regenerating performance and sufficiently restrains the formation of SO3 even in high temp. by forming a titania layer on an alumina layer on the surface of a porous ceramic structural body. CONSTITUTION:The alumina layer 6 is formed on the porous ceramic structural body 5 of honeycomb shape or foamed shape using activated alumina, such as gamma-alumina. Then, the titania layer is formed by slurry dipping method, etc., using titania. In this case, weight ratio of the coating amount of titania to the coating amount of activated alumina is about 0.1-0.5. Moreover, less than one kind of metallic catalyst 8, such as platinum, palladium, rhodium, etc., is supported. As for the supporting method, there are the methods of dispersingly supporting the catalyst in both the alumina layer 6 and the titania layer 7, of supporting it in only the alumina layer 6, and of putting it as a plating layer between the alumina layer 6 and the titania layer 7. By this method, the filter which has good regenerating performance and restrains the formation of SO3 even in high temp. is obtained. |
