The side walls of the crate have top supports and guides to permit sliding of the top positioned crate, between a transport position and a filling position. The side walls have vertical slotted ventilation apertures (7). The tops of the walls have a flat rim (8). The long side walls (3,5) and rear of the wall (4) have an upstanding rim (9). The flat rim and the upstanding rim form the supports and guides for an identical crate. The top crate rests with its base on the flat rim, whilst the upstanding rim is enclosed to permit sliding leftwards.
