<p>PURPOSE: To provide a high density back-plane connector which has a high- density connecting characteristics and exerts a certain terminal contacting effect by furnishing a specific contact module, biasing mechanism, flexible film structure, biasing means, and cam member. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second contacts in row 52db, etc., are furnished corresponding to the rows of contact pads on the first and the secodn printed circuit board, wherein the second row of contacts comprises a contact module 30 connected with the second board, a flexible film structure to connect the first and second rows 52db... with each other, and a biasing module to give a uniform contacting force distribution to the film structure. A biasing means 80 puts the first board to be positioned as mating with the connector and allows the ground pads on both boards to make grounding connection at an early stage, and a cam means 130 performs a wiping motion while final connection of the first row 52db is established with the first board. This ensures increase of the input/output density and enhancement of the electric characteristics and reliability.</p> |
