This system comprises a primary rectifier circuit (11), a switching transformer (T) connected to the circuit (11), a secondary rectifier circuit (12), a voltage divider (20) connected between the circuit (12) and earth, a section (16) detecting the variation in the voltage from the divider (20), a generator producing switching signals on the basis of the signal from the section (16), a protection circuit (15), an auxiliary energy source (13) rectifying the voltage from the transformer (T), a switching transistor (FET11) inserted between the transformer (T) and earth, a circuit (17) for detecting an interruption in the alternating-current power supply and a circuit (18) for discharging the residual charge held in (13).
