PURPOSE:To improve heat conductivity by mixing MgO powder and ZrO2 powder with Al2O3 powder as a sintering aid in a specified weight ratio, molding and sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic compsn. is composed of 70-90wt.% MgO powder of 1mm max. grain size and 0.04-0.5mm average grain size and 10-30wt.% ZrO2 powder of 10mum max. grain size and 1-2mum average grain size and Al2O3 powder of 0.01-1mum average grain size as a sintering aid is added to the compsn. by 0.5-5wt.% of the total amt. of the MgO and ZrO2. An org. binder such as PVA is further added by 0.5-3wt.% of the total amt. of the MgO and ZrO2 as required. They are mixed and molded by a CIP molding method or other method and the molded body is sintered at 1,200-1,600 deg.C for 1-3hr to obtain composite ceramics having satisfactory heat conductivity. |
