PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and to reduce the size and the weight by splitting the electrode of a vibration element, applying high frequency voltages having different phases, producing vibration in the direction of thickness and bending vibration simultaneously in a vibrator thereby inducing a driving force in the vibrator based on a combined elliptical vibration. CONSTITUTION:Upon application of two types of high frequency voltages having phase difference of 90 deg. between electrodes 10-10a and 10-10b, vibration in the direction of thickness and axial bending vibration are apparently produced in a vibrator 9. When these vibrations are produced with high frequency, longitudinal vibration and bending vibration are produced simultaneously. Consequently, a combined elliptical vibration of the longitudinal vibration and bending vibration occurs on the surface of a vibrator 1 and an elliptical vibration 19 also takes place on the vibrating face 13 at the tip of a protrusion 8a. The driving face 13 kicks the contact face 18 of a fixed section 3 thus inducing a driving face in the vibrator 1. |
