The present invention relates to a book clamp. This device essentially comprises two book-clamping parts or plates (1, 2) mounted so as to be able to slide over a table (3) in order to hold the books (L) standing on this table, and is characterised in that it comprises elastic means such as rubber bands (7, 8) which keep the book-clamping parts (1, 2) under constant pressure against the ends of the row of books (L) on the table (3).
