PURPOSE:To correctly recognize the volume of the stored acid over the entire part and to improve consumption unit by adding the volume of the acid soln. carried over from a pickling tank and the volume of the acid soln. under circulation to the volume of the acid soln. in a circulating tank and controlling the feeding and discharging to and from the circulating tank. CONSTITUTION:The liquid level height and sp. gr. of the stored acid soln. are detected by a level gage 50 and a hydrometer 51 installed to the circulating tank 4 and the results thereof are applied to a computing section 60. The volume of the stored acid over the entire part of a 1st pickling unit is calculated as the sum of the volume of the acid soln. stored in the circulating tank 4, the acid soln. of the acid soln. carried over from the pickling tank 1 by the movement of a steel strip 10, and the volume of the acid soln. under circulation. The added volume of the stored acid is applied from the computing section 60 to a control section 61. Cascade pumps 40, 41 are driven by the operation of the control section 61 and the feeding and discharging of the acid soln. to and from the circulating tank 4 are executed, by which the volume of the stored acid is maintained approximately constant. The volume of the stored acid over the entire part is, therefore, correctly recognized regardless of the width and feeding speed of the steel strip. |
