<p>PURPOSE:To detect a correct setting of paper ends and a side presser member with a single sensor by providing a means to detect existence or non-existence of paper sheets and setting of the member at the bottom part of the presser member facing one end part of the bottom surface of a paper sheet bundle. CONSTITUTION:A reflection type photosensor 8 is provided on a horizontal leg part 3a at the bottom of a side presser member 3. With a paper feed tray 2 set in a main body, detection of paper sheets 4 is determined by the sensor 8, and if the side presser member 3 is set at a predetermined position, the sensor 8 detects one end part of the underside surface of the paper sheet bundle 4, where a display showing the side presser member 3 set correctly is put in an operation panel. In this case, copying becomes possible, and copying is performed till the paper sheets are exhausted, wherein the sensor 8 detects paperless and a message of 'paper end' is displayed on the operation panel.</p> |
