<p>PURPOSE:To measure the position of an excavator in excavating action by pushing a pilot pipe, provided with transmission coils therein to generate a magnetic field, out toward the excavator in underground excavating action from a vertical shaft, and detecting the generated magnetic field by the receiving sensor of the excavator. CONSTITUTION:A pilot pipe 4 formed out of non-magnetic material is composed of a pilot head and transmission coils 6a, 6b wired inside. One ends of the transmission coils 6a, 6b are connected in the vicinity of an excavator, and the other ends are extended into a vertical shaft 2 and connected mutually. A.C. power 6 is then impressed to generate a magnetic field. A receiving sensor 10 is provided at the upper part in the excavator 1 to detect the magnetic field from the transmission coil 6a. A magnetic field is generated while pushing the pilot pipe 4 toward the underground excavator 1 from the vertical shaft 2, and this magnetic field is received by the receiving sensor 10 to measure the underground position of the excavator 1. The position of the excavator 1 in excavating action can be thereby confirmed inside the vertical shaft 2.</p> |
