In the pulp prodn. for each paper the pulp, after dispersion with alkali, polysulphide and/or anthraquinone and before milling is delignified with oxygen and alkali in one or more stages. A sach paper of high tensile energy is obtd. at high yeild. The Kappa number is partic. reduced by at least 30 pref. 35-80 units and is partic. initially greater than 90.
