<p>A spatula shaped needle is provided where a cross cut arises on either side of a pair of parallel or thinly (converged) upper and lower surfaces connected to the needle walls and a pair of fluted edges. On the thinner end of the needle the upper surface changes and gives a cross cut on five sides. This improved form results in easier tissue penetration, which minimizes the extent of scarring and damaged tissue. For this reason the needle in question is welcomed in the practice of delicate surgery such as that carried out in ophthalmology, microsurgery, and plastic surgery.</p> |
