FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve strength at high temp., oxidation and thermal shock resistances by interposing a middle part in which the compsn. of fibers and that of the matrix have been stepwise varied between carbon fiber-reinforced carbon and silicon carbide fiber-reinforced silicon carbide. CONSTITUTION:This fiber-reinforced composite material is composed of a surface part made of carbon fiber-reinforced carbon 1 at one side, a surface part made of silicon carbide fiber-reinforced silicon carbide 2 at the other side and a middle part 3 in which the compsn. of fibers and that of the matrix have been continuously or stepwise varied from carbon to silicon carbide.
