The clamping jaw for cylindrical or tubular work in particular has a bell-crank lever (2) with arms of equal length and attached at one end to the longer arm of a second such lever (3) with arms of different lengths. A screw bolt (5) turns in the end of the long arm of the second lever, and engages in a bush at the junction between the arms of the first lever. The other ends of the two levers are moved towards each other by the bolt, and on them are flat pivoting bodies (13,14) forming clamping jaws. Their outer edges are profiled to form supporting faces for the work (25). ADVANTAGE - Grips work both loosely for positioning and firmly for machining.
