发明名称 PRODUCTION OF ZIRCONIUM-CROSSLINKED MONTMORILLONITE OF DIFFERENT PILLAR AMOUNT
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a ZrO2-crosslinked montmorillonite having different pillar amt. by using such a montmorillonite with controlled cation exchange capacity as the start material. CONSTITUTION:Such a montmorillonite in which the cation exchange capacity is controlled to a desired value is added by 1.0g to 300cc of distilled water and sufficiently stirred to prepare a slurry. Then, zirconium hydroxide oligomers are added little by little to this slurry under vigorously stirred. After addition, the slurry is left to stand at room temp. or in a heated state at several ten degrees for one or more days. The oligomers above-mentioned have bivalent positive charges and are expressed by the composition formula. The add amt. of oligomers is determined, preferably, so as to exchange the all amt. of exchangeable cations contained in the montmorillonite of the source clay. Then the product is filtered, and if required, washed with 1l of distilled water for several times, and then dried. Thus, the ZrO2-crosslinked montmorillonite having pillars of zirconium hydroxide is obtained. By heating this montmorillonite in an electric furnace, the zirconium hydroxide pillars are dehydrated and changed zirconium oxide pillars.
